From its home in Southwold on the Suffolk coast, Tobin Plant has served Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex for over 35 years.
During that time we have supplied plant equipment for many industries, including construction, waste, demolition and civil engineering. We’ve forged many close, long term relationships with many companies across the region, who appreciate our expertise and ability to supply the right machines for the job they need to do, every single time.

Simon Tobin
Simon is the Managing Director of Tobin Plant.
He set the business up in 2022 after many years as a senior salesman. He’s previously sold brands such as LiuGong, Takeuchi and various others, along with a continuous trade of used equipment.
Simon entered the world of work at 16, joining the Royal Engineers in the British Army. He attended the Royal School of Military Engineering and acquired qualifications as a combat engineer, heavy plant operator and mechanic. Subsequently, he worked as a foreman on a diamond mine in South Africa.
Simon's career path led him to work with several plant manufacturers. He also held positions as a commercial manager at two of the largest plant hire companies in the eastern region. Additionally, he managed various sea defence projects, including overseeing the logistics of constructing Southwold Pier.
The Hyundai brand is well-respected and has many years of strong.
